F@N Communications, one of the largest providers of affiliate programs in Japan, offers a range of Internet media services to a large clientele. By locating within Equinix's Tokyo IBX, F@N Communications will implement a high-performance IT infrastructure that leverages the aggregation of networks operating in the centre, as well as the industry-leading security, environmental and physical infrastructure of the IBX. The close proximity and direct connectivity to key networking partners within the same physical location, as opposed to connecting to multiple, disparate locations and across great distances, will enable F@N Communications to streamline its network connectivity and greatly reduce intermediate transit.
The enhanced infrastructure at Equinix will also enable F@N Communications to offer customers a stable and secure platform, as well as a heightened protection level for their critical applications, such as electronic commerce. As a result of the deployment, F@N Communications will offer a variety of enhanced services to customers, including Internet advertising, transaction services, search engine operation and support for these services.
"Due to the success of our products, we were in need of high-performance and high-availability bandwidth options as well a robust physical infrastructure that can scale to accommodate our growing demand for additional data centre space," said Mr. Toru Uchida, Chief Technology Officer of F@N Communications. "By deploying into Equinix's Tokyo centre, F@N Communications can take advantage of a network-rich environment, thereby increasing the flexibility and reliability in the delivery of our advertising and marketing services to customers, while drastically reducing networking costs."
"Equinix is the leading neutral co-location player in Japan with more than 44 ISPs, carriers, content companies and enterprises operating within the Tokyo IBX centre," said David Wilkinson, country manager of Equinix Japan. "Our neutral model, and the flexibility it provides customers, is winning in the marketplace."
