Equinix Expands Managed Service Offerings in Asia-Pacific

Mar 31, 2005

Singapore — March 31, 2005 — Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the leading provider of network-neutral data centres and Internet exchange services, today announced the expansion of Equinix Command Center (ECC), a suite of managed services for the management and monitoring of enterprise-level information systems and network infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific market. With the new enhancements made to ECC, the suite now includes Smart Admin, Smart Watch and Smart Hands. The services are available for customers in the Asia-Pacific market, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo.

As a leading provider of colocation and Internet exchange services, Equinix offers ECC as a value added service to customers who are seeking a comprehensive IT solution. The ECC suite of managed services helps customers achieve greater efficiency with their existing IT infrastructure while reducing the cost and complexity of administering and managing these functions internally. With ECC, customers have the flexibility to combine the necessary managed services to meet their specific business needs while providing access to certified IT experts with the ability to react to rapid changes in the business environment.

One of the major enhancements made to ECC is Smart Admin. Smart Admin is a network infrastructure management service for customer servers, network and firewall devices. Also included is Smart Watch, which is a set of monitoring services that allows customers to grow, manage and control their network and Internet operations. These services include IP address monitoring, server status monitoring and link status monitoring. Both of these enhancements are supported by the existing Smart Hands service which significantly reduces logistics costs for customers by providing trained Equinix technicians for basic maintenance duties or emergency situations.

As part of the newly enhanced ECC offering, customers can access the services through a secure, convenient and reliable Web-based interface, the Equinix Services Portal. This portal allows customers to monitor their infrastructure status in near real-time. Additional benefits include online access to Equinix's fault management applications as well as visibility into Equinix IBX environmental status from anywhere and at any time.

Success Corporation, a leading online content application company based in Japan, is a subscriber to Equinix's Command Center. The company hosts a number of mission critical applications within Equinix's Tokyo IBX center. Success Corporation required a proactive fault management solution that would significantly reduce their internal support costs and actively monitor and manage their various services including online gaming for PC users as well as mobile content such as ring tones, screen savers and mobile games.

"Success Corporation is dependent upon network diversity and reliability to ensure the highest quality experience for its end-users in the world of online gaming," said Mr. Hiroyasu Ichizaki, General Manager of Success Corporation. "Because Success is a performance driven company, the Equinix Command Center suite of managed services provides us with the critical solutions required for optimal network operations."

"As we have seen our enterprise base grow in the Asia-Pacific region, expanding our managed services portfolio is an important part in meeting their needs," said Philip Koen, President and head of Equinix Asia Pacific. "Equinix Command Center further enhances our relationship with our customers by offering them an affordable and reliable suite of managed services that compliments our core colocation and exchange services product offerings."
