MySpace.com is a Social Networking portal that allows users to connect around shared interests. Operating within Equinix's network-rich environment will provide MySpace.com with direct access to a critical mass of network service providers, giving it the greatest amount of flexibility in the management of IT operations. To enhance the delivery of content to end-users, MySpace.com will exchange data, or "peer," with these networks through the Equinix Exchange™ service. Through a central switching fabric managed by Equinix, Equinix Exchange facilitates network and content peering amongst Equinix customers, enabling MySpace.com to conveniently leverage the cost reduction and performance benefits of direct interconnection to the variety of networks at Equinix, including the all of the top tier IP backbone networks.
