A leading IT media content provider in Southeast Asia, Hardware Zone is well known for its quality IT news articles and reviews. It provides a highly interactive and member-centric platform offering discussion forums, classified ads and IT price guides. Currently, Hardware Zone's online portal (http://www.hardwarezone.com) is utilized by more than four million visitors each month.
To fuel expansion in the Asia Pacific region, Hardware Zone required a co- location provider with strong international connectivity as well as enterprise level support. With a projected increase in traffic as more online services are rolled out, Equinix met the requirements of Hardware Zone by providing a scalable solution that compliments the growth of the business while ensuring high service uptime.
As a part of the deployment, a direct fiber connection will be established between Hardware Zone's servers, located at Equinix's Singapore IBX, and the company's headquarters in Singapore. This fiber connection will enable Hardware Zone to directly access their servers remotely, bypassing the Internet and expensive leased lines.
At Equinix's Singapore Internet hub, Hardware Zone will also have direct access to an aggregation of network providers. By operating within the same physical space as many of these strategic connectivity partners, Hardware Zone can implement a more streamlined path between their Web portal and their end-users, resulting in higher performance and reliability. It also provides Hardware Zone with a strong selection of choices for backup networks in the event of a service interruption with a primary provider.
