Crucial Paradigm is an Australian-owned, privately held web-hosting company with facilities in Australia and the United States. The company offers a wide range of solutions including business web hosting, reseller hosting, virtual and dedicated servers, clustered solutions for high uptime websites and value-added services such as Domain registration and SSL Certificates.
The move into SY3, with its increased capacity and lowest possible network latency, has enabled Crucial to take advantage of cloud-based service delivery. Crucial Paradigm can now offer cloud hosting solutions to enable managed service providers to resell cloud services and improve business performance through Equinix’s secure, high-connectivity, high-availability and power-dense data centre environment.
Ijan Kruizinga, director of sales and marketing at Crucial Paradigm, said: “The market for managed services has grown substantially in Australia in the last couple of years. We’re now seeing demand from managed service providers who want to resell cloud services to their customer base. Platform Equinix enables us to package a solution that allows MSPs to boost their product offering and open up new revenue streams with a range of new, valued-added services delivered through the cloud.”
“Equinix’s credentials in energy efficiency were another reason we chose to expand our relationship,” added Kruizinga. “We take our commitment to the environment and minimising our carbon footprint very seriously and we want to engage like-minded partners and suppliers,” he said.
Equinix’s Sydney 3 facility has been designed in accordance with the internationally recognised LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification system. LEED certification takes into account factors such as energy savings, water efficiency and CO2 emissions reduction.
Darren Mann, managing director for Equinix Australia said: “It is rewarding for Equinix too. We are pleased to have Crucial Paradigm join Platform Equinix and enable the company to expand its service offering and add a great deal of value to its market proposition. Platform Equinix provides a secure, high-connectivity, high-availability and power-dense environment that underpins the successful delivery of cloud services in Australia and around the world.”
Equinix’s new SY3 IBX data centre was officially commissioned in August 2011. Built at a cost of US$65M, phase one of the facility offers 1,000 cabinet equivalents, expanding to 3,000 with subsequent phases.
