REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — November 7, 2011 — Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), a provider of global data center services, today announced it has been selected as a data center partner for customers building and deploying private and hybrid clouds using Rackspace Cloud: Private Edition.

Announced today, Rackspace Cloud: Private Edition provides corporate IT departments with production cloud solutions based on OpenStack™ technology and delivered through published reference architectures, certified deployment partners, and cloud management services from Rackspace.  Customers now have the option to deploy Rackspace Cloud: Private Edition in International Business Exchange™ (IBX®) data centers located around the world. Platform Equinix™ provides customers the global reach, scalability, security, high availability, and network connectivity options necessary for cloud application performance.
