Equinix Launches Montreal As Second Metro to Offer Equinix Fabric in Canada

The expanded offering will empower Canadian businesses to scale and digitize their operations at software speeds

TORONTO, ON., May 12, 2021 -- Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the world's digital infrastructure company™, today announced that in its continued effort to bring the full value of Platform Equinix and its portfolio of solutions to businesses across Canada,  it will be expanding Equinix Fabric to Montreal.  With Equinix Fabric, customers will be able to connect their digital infrastructure and services to any other company's infrastructure on Platform Equinix ® at software speed via secure, software-defined interconnection.

As the first expansion of Equinix Fabric to key metros since Equinix’s expansion across the country, today’s announcement is the next step in Equinix’s mission to bring the Best of Equinix to Canada and provide a platform for Digital Leaders to bring the best of Canada to the rest of the world. Equinix continues to solidify its position as the industry’s largest infrastructure ecosystem by giving customers more ways to directly connect with leading service providers and partners at global scale.

According to Equinix’s latest Global Tech Trends Survey, nearly half (46%) of digital leaders in Canada have accelerated their digital transformation plans as a result of COVID-19, while 40% said their budgets have been increased to satisfy the rapid growth in digital demands. In response, Equinix selected Montreal as the first new metro in Canada to offer Equinix Fabric in 2021.​
